5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Perfect Party Color!, 1.2.2012

Whether you are going out on new years, celebrating your birthday, or simply having a dinner party. Locavore is the perfect polish for the occasion. The size of the glitter makes the polish go on smooth like any other polish. It dries super quickly too!

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Locavore Love - plus some tips for longer wear of the glittery polishes, 5.13.2010
Reviewer: Attila the Honey (Alameda, CA)

I like Locavore very much. The green and gold are just gorgeous together. I'm pleased with the massive amount of chunky glitter in the polish - it gives a striking result with lots of visual impact. In my experience, the glitter polishes from RBL are best removed with an acetone-based polish remover. So some reviewers were asking for tips on how to keep the glitter polishes from chipping. I'm wondering if you all are using the Rescue Beauty Lounge 3-step system with these polishes - 1) base coat prep, 2) base coat and 3) top coat. I'm not trying to shill for RBL; I've just noticed that I get better results from RBL polishes if I used the base coats and top coat that go with them. I can get about a week out of my manicures before I get chips; I usually get about a month from my RBL polish pedicures. Also, this may be common knowledge by now, but make sure you remove any lotion or oil from your nails (with polish remover) before you put any polish on, RBL-made or otherwise; if you skip this step, the polish may not adhere properly to your nail bed.I hope this helps!

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Beautiful color mix, 4.8.2010
Reviewer: CH (, CA)

This glittery melange is not your everyday bling. The lime green sets off the other colors, especially the pink as they "vibrate" like opposites on a color wheel. This formula covers well - much better than other glitters. I find using a good topcoat makes it last much longer. What a beautiful creation, just like the color of organic produce from the farmer's market in the summer.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 BEAUTIFUL! But sadly, it chips quickly, 4.8.2010
Reviewer: lvh75 (san jose, CA)

I still rate this a 5 because the glitter is absolutely stunning, I've never seen any other color like it. I am tempted to buy a back-up bottle even... But as the reviewer right before me says, it chips very quickly, both times I've worn it, the color chips in a few places within 1-2 days. Very sad. But I will continue to apply/touch-up because I think it is a super fun color to wear, makes me happy every time!

Reviewer: MJ (, FL)

This color is amazing! Two coats and it covers beautifully with insane sparkle and glitter. It's a pretty blue-green with flecks of purple. Unfortunately, it chips really quickly. I was disappointed that I painted my nails Sunday and by Monday there was two small chips, but by Tuesday about half of my nails had significant chunks of polish missing. I did a base and top coat and would love to know how to make it last longer. Definitely a fun color, but be prepared to do daily touch-ups.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Best Color Everrrr!!!!, 1.29.2010
Reviewer: Jen (West Chester, PA)

I bought this on Wednesday night and in came in the next day; never expected it to come in this soon but so happy that it did! I haven't seen a color quite like this anywhere - it is the perfect light greenish color (mermaid-like). The more coats you put on the better it looks! Love love love it and don't anticiapte wearing a different color for quite some time :)

Reviewer: Katie (Mid-west, )

I have never owned a glitter polish until now and I am crazy pleased. I bought this because one of the reviewer mentioned that women who wouldn't consider glitter asked her about Locavore so I thought what the heck, I've never considered glitter it could be fun. Now I can see me wearing this every chance I get. If you have a polish you are just so-so on, top coat it with this and fall in love.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Sparkles like mad!, 1.8.2010
Reviewer: ChynnaBlue (Austin, )

I thought spending $18 on a glitter polish like they have at the drugstore was crazy, so I bought this when it was sale priced. I have to say, this is definitely NOT your drugstore glitter polish. The base is truly clear and the glitter outshines anything I've seen in glitter polishes before. The glitter is dense enough that a few coats makes a big impact. I've never seen anything like this before and I would absolutely pay full price for this polish. (In fact, once I got this I paid full price for Frugalista.)

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Unique glitter polish!, 10.16.2009

Locavore is a unique green glitter. It can be whatever you want: festive, moody, opulent, introspective. I haven't had problems with chipping. To prevent chipping, make sure that the base coat is completely dry before applying.

This color DEMANDS attention, the more coats you put on the more BANG you get. I like that it is so city and so natural all at the same time. Add this to a deep green or any other color if you dare. As an avid outdoors girl and seasoned angler, I try to impress my brother with the pick of the week; snazzy colors that either look like a certain species of fish or like the enticing lures they are supposed to bite. Apply Locavore to a deep green and it resembles, what my brother says, "Muskie bait". As with any sparkle polish, it is hard to remove but I always add a base and top coat, it seems to make the removing process easier.
