Depending on the lighting the color can be look like a shining grape tone, to shiny blue tones popping thru the purple. The manicurist was certainly intrigued by the color and the quality of polish. I never use the polish at the shop. I like to bring my own. My last pedicure with RBL Coral lasted 6 weeks!

You know when you see a movie that's getting great reviews and it doesn't live up to the hype? Scrangie is that movie except it totally lives up to the hype and then some. I'm blown away by how great, beautiful, amazing this polish is.

Came into the salon on Wednesday to buy two of the new polishes...the new girl at the register had the most amazing mani. I seriously almost fainted! I asked her the color, hoping I could add it to my purchase...of course, Scangie! The one I thought would be too shiny, too blue...is actually THE BEST COLOR I have ever seen!! Hoping kit comes back....guess I have to just keep booking manis until I can have a bottle of my own!!

None of the pictures on the RBL website or in bloggers' swatches really do this color the justice it deserves. Really, it's not fair to call it a color; it's so much more than that. In dim light it is purple with red flashing around the edges and in sunlight, you can see the teal shimmer. I love both effects. This is the most interesting, gorgeous polish in my collection. It garners tons of compliments and if you're a fan of something a little different, Scrangie will not disappoint! The formula is good with great opacity after two coats and can hold up quite well for at least 5-6 days with good base and top coats.

    It's Electric!, 12.16.2010

Yes, this polish reminds me of beetles' wings... Or better yet, Fairy wings. But to me, Scrangie takes "lit from within" to a different level. The color "POPS!" and reminds me of a glowing lava lamp :) I like looking at Scrangie "head-on" when the green shimmer is obvious, but I LOVE staring at it from various angles to admire the electric "red+blue=purple" base. GORGEOUS!

Beautiful, unique polish. Terrific formula for application - But and I have no explanation for this - it absolutely will not stick to OPI nail envy. I haven't had this issue with any other RBL polish, but after drying you can seriously slide all of the polish off of the base coat.

One of my 'happy colors'!, 11.22.2010

I love the violet-red base with its green-blue-gold shimmer; every time I looked at my nails I had a 'girly' thrill. I found that a topcoat changed the appearance of the shimmer dramatically, from flat and somewhat glassy to subtle and deep (guess which I preferred?). Three coats for full opacity and minimal cuticle drag.

This is the third bottle of RBL that I've tried out of a large haul, and after my profoundly negative experience with the first two (Medium White and Smitten), I was happy to find one that didn't streak like crazy, or was too thick and uneven. That said, it did seem to go on a bit unevenly (polish seems a bit thin, perhaps?) and even after 2 coats with plenty of time in between to dry each coat, I was left with some spots on my nails where I could still see my nail underneath. I ended up adding a third coat of polish after I'd already applied the top coat, and that seemed to even things out quite a bit. Going forward, I think I will try the "sandwiching" method with RBL polishes(base coat, polish, base coat polish, top coat). Anyhow--as far as color goes, it's currently my favorite dark purple--pretty shimmer and it's not vampy... more of a blue-purple than all the black-purple polishes I'm seeing for sale these days.
