2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Disappointing -- didn't wear as well as other RBL polishes., 9.14.2011
Reviewer: Anna Maria (Birmingham, AL)

This was the polish I was most excited about getting from RBL, but it just didn't work for me at all. I don't see the Lilac in it at all either. Smitten doesn't apply as smoothly as other polishes, and it REALLY looks like I painted warm-toned Pepto Bismal on my fingers. I wonder if RBL's Pepto pink would work better for me because Smitten sadly did not. I'm a cool-toned pale woman in my early 40s, and this is a BAD color for me -- usually lilac tinged pinks work really well, which is another reason I think this color is mis-described. So then I got Grunge instead, and it is PERFECT for me. Applies beautifully, looks great with my skin tone, looks professional, wears well. Sadly, I am not smitten with Smitten, but I am smitten with Grunge. I wish RBL would make some more pinks that would work for cool-toned women and were also professional. Smitten is too Barbie pink and applies unevenly.

I love this color. It is a pretty cream pink, but not little girl or Barbie. Smitten is a warm medium pink, perhaps with a drop of melon rather than lilac. I don't see any pale purple or violet blue tones. The application was effortless and the finish is lovely.

This seems truly lilac, a pink with a definite lavender edge. I have fair, neutral skin and I think this color looks terrific. It's work-appropriate but still stylish and just plain pretty. I've had so application problems at all and it wears well.

I finally tried my bottle of Smitten. It has a touch of mauve that gives it the dustiness that I prefer in my light colors. I had no application issues at all, but it took just a little bit longer to dry than some of my other RBLs. It's the perfect pink for my ivory, slightly yellow skin tone!

Although reviews below argue that this is not lilac, the description is correct. Yes, Smitten is pink, but there is just a hint of lilac that I may not have noticed until I compared it side-by-side with Pepto Pink. Under certain lighting, Smitten is the lightest shade of muave. I like it :)

I tend to like to wear products that he thinks are hot. If you are one of those gals who cares what guys think you should wear this on dates. As far as the quality...goes on easy and dries nicely.

2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 nice color but the formula..., 11.17.2010
Reviewer: michelle (San Francisco, CA)

This is a nice opaque pink (but I don't get lilac from it either). I gave it two stars because of the color, but either the formula is awful or I got a bad bottle. It went on really thick and unevenly, and I followed all of Ji's tips in her videos to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. I used a really good base coat, and fast dry top coat that I've never had issues with. I also used drying drops that generally work like a charm and also waited a while before going to bed, but I still woke up with several smudges and marks. I'm going to try adding a drop of polish thinner (not acetone, of course) to it to see if I get better results next time around. This is my second RBL polish and so far, I'm sad to say I'm not impressed. I've gotten much better results with brands that cost half or even a quarter as much. I'm really hoping the rest of my RBL haul will be better...

Tricky application, thin formula, and not at all lilac. This is little girl's Barbie pink. The only disappointment of my mini RBL haul. Not recommended.

Reviewer: Luciana (, NC)

This is the first disappointment I've had with RBL polishes. Personally the colour wasn't for me - too bubblegum. I expected there to be more lilac in this. But others might love it! The real disappointment was the formula - the worst!!! Thick, yet streaky. It was like trying to spread marshmallow fluff on my nails!!! Huge disappointment and a waste of money.

Reviewer: Michelle (New Bremen, Ohio)

So I bought this color for my mom on Christmas and I let her open it, but I don't think she's seen it since. I LOVE this color! It's so pretty and simple. I feel elegant and classy when I wear it and it matches almost everything in my closet. Maybe next year I'll get my mom something for her instead of me :)
