If a blue can be dark and clear and bright, all at the time, this is it. Lighter than navy, no green, just pure perfect satiny blue. Good coverage.

I love the other RBL polishes, especially chinoise, however I waited many months for this out of stock polish to come back in stock and I was really disappointed! It is VERY dark and didn't apply that smoothly. It stained my nails and I don't see myself wearing this ever.. :(

This is the perfect dark blue creme. Pure blue, no black at all. I'm usually drawn to blue shimmer's but this is the perfect creme to switch it up. And you seriously only need one coat, which will be longer lasting.

This nail polish is BEYOND anything you could ever/would ever expect from a blue. It is amazing! Applies like an absolute DREAM. I get weekly manicures but find that roughly 3 (maybe 4) days after, my manicure starts to chip (I'm not kind to my nails, I'm an excessive typer and daily house-cleaner/dish washer). I also NEVER so much as apply a top coat to help me get through the week with the same color, once it begins to chip it comes off. This nail polish made it through the week, not only intact, it's so pigmented that I went through a ton of cottonballs removing it with acetone (not sure if that's good or bad) but it goes to show that the quality of RBL lacquers is UNSURPASSED. Period.

I couldn't agree more with Attila the Honey's review. When I have this color on, I cannot stop looking at my nails. I like that it's super dark, but it never looks black. Just a deep, dark glorious blue.

I bought the "Tough Chic" pack last summer while visiting friends in New York. I'd been lusting and pining to try the legendary Rescue Beauty nail products. I was not disappointed with any of them, but as an avowed glitter lover, I was shocked that my favorite color in the pack was Dead Calm. It goes on - sorry - "like buttah." What I mean by this is that the color lays down thickly and evenly. Dead Calm is a lustrous deep dark blue with a hint of teal and not a trace of glitter. It makes your nails look like polished agate, minus any swirls. If you like the dark colors - black, brown, purple - you may love this one. I hope it surprises you the way it surprised me! Thanks, Ji Baek, for making this beautiful, consistent, fresh color!
